A List Of All The Charleston Beaches

It’s looking like we’re going to have a beach weekend! As beach season kicks off, I’m filling you in on which beach to go to depending on your vibe!

𝙁𝙊𝙇𝙇𝙔 𝘽𝙀𝘼𝘾𝙃: surfer-friendly waves, Folly Beach offers a relaxed beach experience like no other. vibrant beach bars to eclectic shops along Center Street, it’s the perfect spot for those seeking a mix of sun, sand, and local charm. Make sure you grab some grub at Jack of Cups and Chico Feo! I explain it as, “the hippie party beach”

𝙎𝙐𝙇𝙇𝙄𝙑𝘼𝙉’𝙎 𝙄𝙎𝙇𝘼𝙉𝘿: my personal favorite! Think beautiful homes, large stretches of sand, incredible restaurants (Obstinate Daughter, Fish Camp, Longboard, Home Team, Co-op to name a few) great shopping (A Makers Post, Bennie & Coco, Abovo), and the vibes are just perfection. It’s what dreams are made of really. I explain it as, “the more exclusive, boujee beach”

𝙄𝙨𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙋𝙖𝙡𝙢𝙨: IOP is Sullivan’s neighbor and absolutely gorgeous! It’s the more touristy beach and where you’ll likely be able to find a vacation rental for a large family. This is more of a tourist destination than a local spot so we avoid going in here in season but beautiful to see if you’re visiting! Make sure you see a show at Windjammer – it’s like no other!

𝙆𝙄𝘼𝙒𝘼𝙃 𝙄𝙎𝙇𝘼𝙉𝘿: while most of Kiawah is private, there is a public beach: Kiawah Beachwalker Park. It’s incredibly beautiful and dog friendly! Think huge stretches of beach and new amenities which make for a great visit. Parking is limited so make sure you get there early!

𝙎𝙀𝘼𝘽𝙍𝙊𝙊𝙆 𝙄𝙎𝙇𝘼𝙉𝘿: Seabrook is incredibly beautiful…and, it’s private so unless you’re renting a vacation home or staying with a friend, you likely won’t venture here but it is beautiful if you ever get the chance to visit!
